Title: The absolute Beauty , Angkor Wat.
Introduction:
Angkor Wat is a temple in Cambodia and the biggest religious monument in the world. It located on a site which measures 162.6 hectares. It is one of the most ancient cities of all times. It is basically a Hindu temple which was dedicated to the God Vishnu for the Khmer empire.
History:
This temple was constructed by Khmer King Suryavarman in the 12th century. Angkor Wat consists of two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple-mountain and the later galleried temple. It was constructed to represent Mount Meru which is said to be the home of Devas in Hindu mythology. At the middle of the temple stands a quincunx of towers.
Angkor Wat lies 5.5 kilometres to north of the modern town of Siem Reap, and a short distance south and a little east of the previous capital, which was centred at Baphuon. According to the legend, the construction of Angkor Wat was ordered by Indra to perform as a palace for his son Precha Ket Mealea. According to the 13th-century Chinese traveller Zhou Daguan, many believed that the temple was made in a single night by a very fine architect.
The starting design and construction of the temple took place in the first half of the 12th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II. It was dedicated to The God Vishnu. It was constructed as the king’s state temple and capital city.
At the end of the 12th century, Angkor Wat slowly transformed from a Hindu centre of worship to Budhism.
Angkor Wat may depict the architecture of the Greek and Roman record explored in terms of the west rather than east location of the temple. A few architects have written that it is ‘Right’ for the construction to be facing to the west. In the temple location for the Greek and Etruscan context, west is associated with “right” and the “underworld” to recommend a religious bond of the building.

Style and Features
Angkor Wat is the best example of the classical design of Khmer architecture. The temple has drawn appreciation above all for the harmony of its design and simplicity. The temple gains a classic perfection by the controlled monumentality of its pretty balanced elements and the precise arrangement of its proportions. It is a work of faith, harmony, power and style.
The temple stands on a terrace lifted higher than the city. It is constructed of three rectangular galleries rising to a central tower, each level that is higher than the last. It said that these galleries were dedicated to the king, Brahma, the moon, and Vishnu.

Conclusion:
It is believed that the urban community of Angkor is probably the biggest of the ancient world ever discovered. The fine beauty and perfect designs can not be compared to any other modern city today. Angkor Wat has become one of the largest tourist destinations. The temple has a very eye catchy architecture and a very interesting history. This is one of the reasons why it has become the source of tourism.
