Research work related to processes involving dynamical behavior of deterministic chaotic systems, such as their control or synchronization, involve some energy approaches. In Sira-Ramirez & Cruz-Hernandez, 2001; Cheng & Spurgeon, 2001 positive de?nite quadratic forms are considered as energy functions to be used in problems of control, and in Pasini & Pelino, 2000; Gluhovsky & Tong, 1999 quadratic energy-like functions are sought in order to attribute a mechanical interpretation to a Lorenz system. However, most of these works have not paid enough attention to intrinsic energy considerations such as, for instance, evaluating the energy cost of the control or synchronization process itself
