Heredity,Environment and Personality.
No wonder we were made individually special. The color of your eyes, complexion, height, weight and even how we behave in social situations are unique traits that only you or I could have. Thanks to your parents or great grand parents and the generations before them, they’ve given you such genes. Now, what do we really call those characteristics? These factors are greatly affected by what we called Heredity.
“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.” (Eleanor Roosevelt). This is just one of the infinite examples of how human nature has been explored by so many different people. Humans are born with the capability of making their own choices. The decisions that they will make in the future will determine how evil they are viewed by others. Although one’s nature and nurture do affect their life, it is their own free will that determines whether or not they are evil.
Heredity, Environment and Personality.Every individual on this earth is divergent from the other. No one person is fully like other person.
Every person differs from the other, either physically or psychologically. Even the twins are no exception to this. They vary in some aspects or other. Mainly when we look at people from psychological point of view these differences are quite evident. In many cases even the children differ from their parents. They will have some resemblances with some forefathers or grandparents instead of their parents. What makes these distinctions to exist? What are the causes? The answer to these queries can be drawn from two factors, heredity and environment.
Heredity refers to the genetic heirloom received by every individual at the time of conception. The foundation of every human life can be traced to a single cell called zygote. The union of sperm and ovum forms it. While in simple terms Environment means the society, the fields of society and even the whole world. But here, the word environment is limited to mean the environment within mother’s womb and just born, as well as the environment around the individual.
As you ponder on these topics, you may also want ask yourself, what makes you, you? Could it be the genes you were born with, or the environment you were raised in?
