Freedom means the quality or state of being free or the absence of slavery. It can also mean the power to act, speak, or think as one wants. It is, generally, having the ability to act or change without pressure. I will talk about freedom meaning in philosophy and religion, in politics .And freedom in the United States of America.
In philosophy and religion, it is associated with having free will and being without extreme constrains or subjection and is a closely related to the theory of autonomy. A person has the freedom to do things that will not, in theory or in practice, be prevented by other forces.
In politics, it is often associated with liberty and democracy in the sense: of “giving oneself one’s own laws, with having rights and the civil liberties with which to act them without too much eruption in by the state.
The freedom past in the United States of America was not pleasant. They have gone into many miserable incidents. It all started when The Spanish colony of St. Augustine in Florida became the first permanent European settlement in what would become the US centuries later; it included an unknown number of African slaves in 16th century .After the American revolution, in the 18th century, thousands of enslaved African Americans in the South escape to British lines, as they were promised freedom to fight with the British. In South Carolina, 25,000 enslaved African Americans, one-quarter of those held, escape to the British or otherwise leave their plantations. They struggled until the 20th century, after the American civil, the American nation started to get aware of what is happening. They started to give them back their rights and authorities.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, freedom is the quality of living free.
