Between the electrical and chemical process is the communication that one neuron sends information to the next neuron. An electrical stimuli that gets sent from the dendrites (that receives branches of a neuron in order to take in information from alternative neurones), that go through the cell body, then it goes down to long arm of the neuron, that is called an axon. This accelerated electrical signal moving down a neuron is called an action potential. Once this electric is on going (action potential) gets to the end of the neuron (presynaptic terminal), a complex chemical reaction is triggered. In the end of a neuron are small bodies which are called synaptic vesicles. These vesicles have various chemicals called neurotransmitters. A (neurotransmitter) is a chemical messenger. The active potential that travels down the axon which will cause the release of the neurotransmitters, which next flood out of the neutron in a small space called a synapse either synaptic cleft. Neutrons don’t physically touch, alternatively are separated by minute gaps called synapses. The chemicals (neurotransmitters) get released from the neutron in a gap to go through across the gap to the next neuron.
